Spearfish Housing Market Booms

Spearfish is experiencing a booming real estate market and posted a record year for buildling permits, KEVN TV reports

An attractive area and the city's proximity to the North Dakota oil fields are cited as factors in the growth. Local experts say the average sale price s up 15 percent, while the average number of days on the market is down 25 percent. More than 450 building permits have been issued in the past year.

Growth will be evident around Exit 17 along Interstate 90, in part in the Elk Horn Ridge Golf Estates, where lots have been selling at a brisk pace.
