Lead Volunteer Fire Department
Lead VFD Moves into $2.8M Fire Hall
The new facility has six offices, a conference room, full kitchen facilities, storage space, an exercise and radio room, shower facilities, housing, a separate space for cleaning and filling air tanks and maintaining equipment, and plenty of room to store firefighting gear, the Black Hills Pioneer reports.
The 32-volunteer department financed the construction through a USDA Rural Development loan to be paid back with fire protection district taxes.
